The crew here at RV is a diverse one. Full of passionate people who all love what they do. But we’re all different, as most RVers are. We like to see the world in our own special ways. I’ve always put RV people in one of three broad categories and, honestly, everyone will at some point belong to all three. We’ve been lucky enough to have a healthy dose of all three here at RV magazine.
There’s the powersports crew, which usually trends towards toy haulers and cab-over campers with a big truck to haul them with. This crew seems to always have a trailer jam packed with toys or has a highly modified Jeep or boat in tow. I would have to say, I belong to this group. For us, there is nothing better than hopping in our chosen toy and driving for hours exploring dirt trails or winding rivers, all the while wondering, what’s around that next turn?
Full-time RV life. This is a dream any RVer has undoubtedly had at one time or another. The ability to have a new view from your bed room window whenever the mood strikes you is extremely appealing. Plus learning and experiencing masses of new areas with new people makes for great stories to tell for a lifetime. This is Jennifer Duncan’s life. Eighteen months on the road with her husband and three kids makes for some truly amazing life experiences.
Then there’s the one we all belong to, destination camping. Zion, Yellowstone, Red Rock Canyon and Alaska, I’ve made my list and I’m sure you’ve got yours too. Mark Quasius is a pro at destination camping. I’ve heard stories of picking one destination, heading out and hitting literally ten different yet equally remarkable spots on the way to and from the original location.
Add in Phil Noyes and his impressive list of unique, quirky life experiences (let me tell you, this guy has seen it all!) and we have a great, diverse crew here. But as varied as the RV crew may be, we aren’t you and we want to know who you are.
What do you use to get out there and enjoy the world? Class A, B, C, toy hauler, travel trailer, or fifth wheel? Where do you like to go and who goes with you? Also, what do you want to see more of on the pages of RV magazine? Like the tech? Or want more destinations? At the same time, what don’t you want to see? And no, we can’t pull my column…
Stay safe out there and have fun!
