Rio Grande Comfort
The Llano Grande Resort is in Mercedes, Texas, the Queen City of the marvelous Rio Grande Valley and about as far south as you can go in the state. This large resort is surrounded by citrus groves and palm trees in a tropical setting, a world away from the cares of city life, yet freeway-close to all that makes southern Texas a destination of choice for many travelers.
The shops, restaurants, and exotic atmosphere of Old Mexico are close by, and less than an hour's drive away are the beaches of South Padre Island. The warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico invite water activities of all types, including shrimping, surfing, and deep-sea fishing. Closer to home are the conveniences you expect, including shopping, post offices, banks, golf courses, and bowling alleys. Birdwatchers will enjoy avian visitors not seen in more northern climates.
The Llano Grande Resort is an 81-acre mobile home and travel trailer park with Mobile Home, Park Model, and RV sites as well as long-term accommodations for permanent and seasonal residents. There are 10 luxury suites available for seasonal or year-round rental.
Llano Grande Resort's in-park amenities are enjoyed and appreciated by residents and help bring a strong sense of community to the park. There are two lighted, professional tennis courts, two very nice heated swimming pools, 18 shuffleboard courts, a state-of-the-art exercise room, and a championship golf course. Dances, craft classes, and jam sessions with fine local musicians are among the activities providing entertainment.
Other features include a stocked bass pond, craft sales, horseshoes, quilting, and organized water aerobics. Free Wi-Fi is available in most sections of the park, or the Internet can be accessed by way of a modem.
